The newest rumors in the NFL revolving around Anquan Boldin is that the Ravens had been looking into picking him up but have said in past days that the price is much too high for the reciever. The Cardinals want a first and third round pick for him. Worth it? More than likely no, I agree with the Ravens staff on this one. Last season the Cowboys got Roy Williams from the Lions, and correct me if I am wrong, but for nearly the same asking price. Look at what Roy Williams has done since being traded, well, there probably isn't too much for you to look at because in all reality Roy Williams has been some what of a bust in Dallas.
That's besides the point, and a conversation for a whole different day though, back to the real discussion, Anquan Boldin. Boldin has been unhappy with the contract the Cardinals have given him since last season now, and just last week the Cardinals have finally had enough and decided to open themselves up to listen to trade offers. The guy was on a team that has been rebuilding for several years now, had torn through the playoffs, and came so close to winning the super bowl that for about 40 seconds, everyone in America thought they had won it. Yet he still isn't happy because Fitzgerald is showing him up, both on the field, and in the bank.
Boldin needs to realize that he isn't Larry Fitzgerald, and he won't ever be as good as Fitz, nor does he even have enough skill to be like him. Boldin is a career number two, and it's time for him to realize this. Go ahead, send him to New York, send him to Baltimore, make him a number one receiver, you won't see any thing special from him. You'll be lucky to see him get 3/4ths the grabs he had during the Cardinals near dream season, Fitzgerald was the only reason Boldin was successful, and this I firmly agree. How can you cover Boldin when you have a beast like Fitzgerald on the other side of the field, you can't. Boldin will get more money somewhere else, from some fools team that thinks they are getting more. But he won't be half the reciever anyone thinks he is.
My guess, Boldin will go to New York, and be sub par. Boldin is just another blip on the radar screen.
